There is lots to do nearby at Lees Wood, but here are some of our highlights.

 

Large Scale Orienteering Course

Lees Wood is bordered by Whippendell woods, which has its own Orienteering course. Maintained by the Hertfordshire Orienteering Club, the course offers a larger area to practice your orienteering skills. Maps are available in Lees Wood site shop for 50p a copy.

Cassiobury Park

With a miniature railway, plenty of playground equipment and a paddling pool park, Cassiobury park offers it all. A short walk from the campsite, through Whippendell woods, you enter the park by crossing the Grand Union Canal. Certain parts of the park do have open and closing times, so it’s always advised to do your research before going.

London

With Watford Tube Station just the other side of Cassiobury Park, it’s a reasonable walk from the campsite, to open up the Capital. Taking the Met Line into London, opens up a variety of attractions, whether it’s ZSL London, Madame Tussauds or just to capture the sites, it’s a great way to spend a day. Warner Brothers Studio Tour

About 45 minutes’ walk from the site is a place of magic and Mystery.  The Making of Harry Potter tour, see the real life sets, costumes and enjoy the Story that is Harry Potter.
