Can You Help?
Lees Wood Scout & Guide Activity Centre has been supporting young people, volunteers, Scouts, Guides and community groups for generations. Our campsite is maintained almost entirely by volunteers, and we’re always looking for people who can spare a little time to help us continue providing a fantastic outdoor experience.
You don’t need to be a Scout or Guide leader, and you don’t need to commit every week. Whether you can help for a few hours a month or would like to take on a more regular role, every contribution makes a difference.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
Treasurer
Help oversee the financial management of Lees Wood and support the charity’s long-term sustainability.
You could help with:
- Budget planning
- Financial reporting
- Monitoring income and expenditure
- Supporting funding applications
- Providing financial oversight as part of the management team
No campsite experience required—just confidence with finances and a desire to help.
Trades & Maintenance
Are you a builder, plumber, electrician, carpenter, decorator, landscaper, engineer, or keen DIY enthusiast?
Help us maintain and improve our facilities by assisting with:
- Building maintenance
- Repairs and improvements
- Grounds maintenance
- Painting and decorating
- Infrastructure projects
Whether you’re qualified in a trade or simply practical and willing to help, we’d love to hear from you.
General Site Support
Not everyone has specialist skills—and that’s perfectly fine.
We regularly need volunteers to assist with:
- Site tidy-ups
- Gardening
- Cleaning
- Event support
- General maintenance tasks
If you’re happy to roll your sleeves up and get involved, there is always something to do.
Activity Instructors
Help inspire young people through outdoor adventure.
We’re looking for people who can support activities such as:
- Archery
- Air Rifle Shooting
- Climbing
- Tomahawk Throwing
- Bushcraft
- Other outdoor activities
Training can be provided for many activities.
Fundraising & Events
Help secure the future of Lees Wood by supporting fundraising projects and events.
You could assist with:
- Fundraising campaigns
- Community events
- Sponsorship opportunities
- Grant applications
- Corporate partnerships
Even a few hours of support can make a huge difference.
Contacts & Grants
Do you have connections with local businesses, community groups, charitable trusts or grant-making organisations?
