Site Rules
Site Rules
To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time at Lees Wood, we kindly ask you to please follow the rules below:
-
Report to a member of our Service Crew when you arrive and again when you depart.
-
Only use the site area allocated to you.
-
Altar fires must be used for all fires. These are available near our wood store. Open fires may be restricted during periods of dry weather. Ground fires are not permitted under any circumstances, except in the designated floor fire area.
-
Wood may be taken from the central wood store, and fallen dead wood may also be collected from the woods. Please return any unused wood to the woodpile rather than leaving it in your camping area. Cutting or damaging standing trees, bushes, or shrubs is strictly prohibited. Chainsaws are not allowed.
-
For your safety, shoes or boots must be worn at all times around the campsite.
-
Axes and saws should only be used within your own campsite, in a clearly marked and safe area.
-
Please do not dig pits for waste of any kind.
-
Do not walk through other campers’ sites.
Safety and Respect for Others
-
Report all accidents, incidents, or near misses to the Warden or Service Crew before you leave.
-
All campers must observe out-of-bounds and private areas as shown on the campsite map.
-
Dogs are not permitted on site, at any time.
-
Please keep noise to a minimum between 22:00 and 07:00. Radios, musical equipment and generators must not be used in a way that disturbs other campers or our neighbours.
-
Rubbish should be placed in the skip located in the main car park. Please ensure the lid is kept closed. If you need assistance, ask a Crew member. The skip is for general waste only – no food, gas bottles, tents, or other camping equipment.
- All food waste must be disposed of in the designated food waste bins. Please ensure only biodegradable bags are used in these bins.
-
Cars and other private vehicles are not allowed on camping sites. Please use the designated parking areas only.
-
Park sensibly and always leave enough space for emergency vehicle access.
-
Do not tamper with any firefighting equipment.
-
Fireworks are strictly prohibited.
-
Drones and other aerial or remote-controlled aircraft are not allowed.
And finally…
The most important rule… Lees Wood is a place to be enjoyed! We hope you have a fantastic stay. If you need anything, the Warden or Crew will be happy to help. Please remember that all our staff are volunteers, generously giving their time to help make your visit safe and enjoyable.
